Undershepherds
Jesus is the Chief Shepherd; as His undershepherds we serve His flock together.
He shares this calling with his wife, Bruna, a nurse with a heart for mission, and together they rejoice in the gift of their daughter, Giovanna.
Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Pastor Diego Barreto heard God’s call to ministry early in life. After completing his bachelor’s degree, he served for many years in São Paulo in many functions: as an associated church pastor, district leader, and school chaplain, and later working as director for Health, Religious Liberty, and Communication at the South São Paulo Conference. During this eleven years time he also created resources to share the gospel more widely, including the first Bible studies app in multiple languages for the Seventh-day Adventist Church and the first Adventist podcast in Brazil.
He moved to the United States to study, and after completing his Master’s degree in Theological Studies he soon was called to continue pastoral ministry. He now serves the Sonoma and Novato Seventh-day Adventist Churches, where his greatest joy is teaching the Bible and ministering in cross-cultural settings.
