Members Differences Explained

This is revealing! Bear with me here. I want to show you that the gifts of the Holy Spirit not only will help us to understand our identities as disciples and give us purpose and direction. But they will also explain some differences between us. And this can solve enormous frustration in Christian ministry.

A person sees something clearly and thinks:

“If everyone really loved God, everyone would care about this as much as I do.”

Not necessarily. We have the tendency of looking at each other’s ministry by the lenses of the things I value most. But the diversity of gifts is also the diversity of values.

The teacher wonders: Why everybody isn’t obsessed with truth?!

The evangelist wonders: Why everybody isn’t searching for lost people?!

The mercy-driven person wonders: Why everybody isn’t caring for suffering people?!

The administrator wonders: Why nobody can make the ministry organized and functioning properly?!

The prayer-oriented person wonders: Why everyone isn’t praying?!

Here is where all fits together. Perhaps part of the intensity itself comes from the person’s function given by God. This is the wake up call for all of us. And this is why Jesus is and should always be the Head of the Church. He knows why He called each and everyone of us. He knows what is driving our ministries and Christian’s view.

Consider this: Your burden may be an assignment rather than a universal indictment of everyone else.

That is an enormously mature implication of the body metaphor. That we can only grasp, through the understanding of the gifts. Let’s us hold each other’s hand in our diversity to build up the body of Christ!
